The Siu Siu Net House, also called the Lab of Primitive Senses by the architect, comprises a small interior live/work space under a large “net house”. A net house is a common structure in Taiwan and other subtropical environments around the world. They’re usually used as agricultural tools, systems to protect vegetables and other crops from heat and direct sunlight in the summer months. In the case of the Siu Siu Net House, a large 24-foot net house extends to either side of the structure within, spanning much deeper into the forest on either side....

Sommerhaus Piu features a natural wood exterior with horizontally-slatted walls and a slightly-pitched roof. The roof, terraced porch and edge section are a charcoal color in contrast, providing visual separation between livable space and functional shelter. Floor-to-ceiling windows open the interior living room to the terraced porch and the environment beyond, while the bedroom section is closed-off for privacy. After more than 14 months of construction and then over a year and a half of global circumnavigation, the Planetsolar has completed its journey as the first solar powered boat to circle the world. Its voyage ended with four naval world records.
