SB Architects has completed work on a sustainably-developed gem of architecture in Mill Valley, California. The Hillside House by SB Architects is the first LEED Platinum home in Marin County, located just north of California’s famed Golden Gate Bridge. The Hillside House is aptly named, as the site includes a sharp incline onto which this home was constructed. The home makes peace with the natural incline by utilizing a multi-story design, leaving much of the plot intact including the grand oak that reaches over the driveway....

Could this concept car be a glimpse into the future of high-speed, off-road rally racing? Designer Klaud Wasiak thinks so, and has created the Hussar Dakar Rally Concept to show just how far these vehicles can go. The Hassar Dakar is inspired by Polish winged cavalry uniforms of the 18th century, giving this vehicle a dramatic rear wing structure that has both aesthetic and functional qualities. Inside, the driver is seated at a central position, with a lower, tiered section with two seats for a navigator and engineer....

The Dutch design collective La Bolleur has reconstructed the classic game of mini golf in a decidedly design-forward fashion. La Bolleur’s take on mini golf has gone from astroturf and water fountains to the high art scene in Milan, Italy. The art shown at Via Vogehra 11 now is both playful and interactive, a nine hole course of mini golf with an ajoined bar and clubhouse. In a time when art galleries can be a bit too stuffy and serious for their own good, this throwback to childhood enjoyment is something we could certainly stand back and admire… when we’re not playing the game, of course....
